Have you ever stood outside the doors of a church and thought, I really shouldn’t be here? I remember one year arriving late to a Christmas Eve service after working construction all day—covered in dirt and sawdust, smelling like sweat, and absolutely convinced the ushers were going to stop me at the door. I felt out of place, underdressed, and unprepared for anything holy. For you, maybe it’s not your clothes or your job, but something inside still whispers, you don’t belong here. This week at BCC, we’re looking at the original “shouldn’t-be-here” guests of Christmas—some random day laborers fresh from the fields—dirty, smelly, and definitely not church-ready. They weren’t important, polished, or invited… yet heaven welcomed them first. And together we’ll discover why, no matter how we look or how we feel, the good news of great joy is still for ordinary, unfiltered, unpolished people like me and you.
