As a church located in Northern Westchester County, we desire to be a presence in our community. Listed below are a few opportunities that we have on a regular basis to impact the community. Check back often, as we will keep this updated with new opportunities. If you would like more information on these or other opportunities to serve our county, please contact us.
Neighbors Link offers a variety of volunteer opportunities for adults, teens, families and groups. Volunteer opportunities may be long-term, short-term or occasional. Both day and evening schedules are available.
Visit their site to fill out an application online and then attend one of their volunteer orientation session. This is the first step in your volunteer journey.
Please contact Amy Werner, Volunteer Coordinator, 914-666-3410, ext. 16 to discuss any questions you may have.
In our backyard stands Bedford Hills Correctional Facility, a maximum security women's prison. Through our partnership with Hour Children, we are able to help support these women and their families. We provide lunches on a regular basis for the children who come to visit their mothers. We also collect clothes, toys, videos, books, etc. for the Family Center. Families from BCC are also encouraged to 'host' children for a week in the summer while they visit their moms in prison.
Twice a year, BCC sponsors a blood drive to help out the America Red Cross.
Our next Blood Drive will be posted here when it is scheduled.
Knit for Kids is a ministry of World Vision. They request that groups gather together to knit, crochet or stitch together sweaters for a World Vision project which sends them around the world - including the US- for children who need them.
They meet locally here at BCC on the first and third Thursday of each month.
