The Gospel of John gives us an identification of Jesus unlike any other Gospel. It operates on two levels. It can be read on a surface level but John also has provided us an underlying message beneath the surface. This Gospel is also about discipleship - what it means to be a follower of Jesus. John's goal is to transform his audience.
